Anthony Meadows, PhD, MT-BC, music
therapist at the Joan Karnell Cancer Center,
presented “Music Imagery in Cancer Care” at
the Music Therapy Conference in Pittsburgh,
PA in March 2006. He also has contracted with
Barcelona Publishers to write a book entitled Engendering
Music Therapy.
Mark Moore, PhD, psychologist
at the Joan Karnell Cancer Center presented
a paper entitled “Where the bar is
set, and how hypnosis outcomes research stands
in relation to it” and he chaired a
symposium entitled “Hypnosis in the
medical setting” at
the 56th Annual Conference for the Society
of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis in Charleston,
SC in October 2005.
Debra DeMille, MS, RD, LND, Oncology
Nutrition Counselor, published “The Effect
of the Neutropenic Diet in the Outpatient Setting:
A Pilot Study” in the Oncology Nursing
Forum in March 2006.
Members of the Pain and Supportive Care Program, a
Palliative Care Service at the Joan Karnell Cancer
Center, presented four posters at the American
Association of Hospice and Palliative Medicine
conference in Nashville, TN in February 2006.
