Penn Dry Eye & Ocular Surface Center

The Penn Dry Eye & Ocular Surface Center is the only center of its kind in the tri-state area. The center offers the most up-to-date, comprehensive care for patients with dry eye, blepharitis, and various ocular surface disorders.

Penn dry eye physicians are board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologists who have a special interest in treating tear dysfunction and ocular surface disorders. Each patient's care and treatment is individualized. In addition, the Dry Eye & Ocular Surface Center is committed to advancing research of dry eye and ocular surface diseases.

The Penn Dry Eye & Ocular Surface Center offers exceptional care and services including:

  • Measurement of tear osmolarity using a tear analyzer.
  • Special patient educational brochures, handouts, and instructional videos.
  • Multi-disciplinary approach bridging various fields of medicine.
  • Selection of eye care products with a portion of the proceeds going to dry eye research.
  • Opportunities to be involved with the latest dry eye clinical studies and research.

Research
Penn dry eye physicians are involved in various research studies.  The goal of our research is to further the understanding of dry eye and ocular surface disorders - and with this knowledge, advance the diagnosis, management and treatment of dry eye and ocular surface disease.

Patients interested in participating in a dry eye clinical research study may contact our clinical research department at 215-662-8038. Individuals interested in supporting research at the Penn Dry Eye & Ocular Surface Center with a gift may contact our development department at 215-662-8020.
