The University of Pennsylvania Department of Ophthalmology consists of several clinical eye care facilities.  The Scheie Eye Institute, located on the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center campus, is the flagship eye care facility of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and the location of the administrative offices of the Department of Ophthalmology.   Scheie also houses one of our state-of-the art optical shops for your optical and eyewear needs.

From the West via I-76:
Stay to the right on I-76 as you approach Exit #39 (30th Street Station).  At the top of the exit ramp, bear right and then follow the curve to the left around 30th Street Station.  Make right turn onto Market Street.  Proceed on Market Street for eight blocks to 38th Street.  Turn right onto 38th Street.

You will see very large signs indicating Penn Presbyterian.  There are two parking locations.  There is a $2.00 charge with validation.  (validation will occur at the check-out desk):

For Open Lot: Turn LEFT at the first turn lane on 38th Street.  Proceed on Filbert Street approximately two blocks.  The open lot is on the right side of the street.
For Parking Garage:  Turn LEFT at the second turn lane on 38th Street.  The parking garage is located on the left side of the street.

From the South via I-95:
Take I-95 North past the Philadelphia International Airport.  Take Exit 11 (I-76 West) to Central Philadelphia.  Follow all signs for Central Philadelphia and I-76 West.

After crossing the Platt Bridge, proceed about a mile to a traffic light and turn left (continuing to follow signs for I-76 West).  Continue on I-76 West past University Avenue exit and take Exit #39 (30th Street Station).  Make a left onto Market Street.  Proceed on Market Street for eight blocks to 38th Street.
