Perinatal Evaluation Center (PEC)

The Perinatal Evaluation Center (PEC), which links to the labor and delivery unit, is a special maternity admissions area that serves as an emergency room for pregnant women and a place for early labor examination. The PEC is run by nurse practitioners with specialized training in triaging women throughout their pregnancy and in labor.

Mothers receive immediate expert care in a private, comfortable setting and can be examined, cared for, and sent home -- or if necessary, sent directly to Labor and Delivery.
