The Penn Center for Advanced Gynecologic Surgery advocates for the highest achievable standards in minimally invasive surgery. Through this Center, access to advanced gynecologic care is streamlined. Gynecologic Oncology Surgery

Gynecologic oncology surgery is an essential part of treatment for most women with gynecologic cancer. Penn has been a national leader in gynecologic oncology for decades. Our surgeons are at the forefront of developing and using new minimally invasive surgical techniques.

  • Conditions treated: Cervical, ovarian, endometrial and uterine cancer

  • Procedures performed: Hysterectomy, radical hysterectomy, lymph node dissection, oophorectomy and ovarian cystectomy

Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery

Penn urogynecologists utilize the most advanced techniques and materials available to treat bladder and pelvic floor disorders and minimize the chance of recurrence after surgery. Our physicians offer access to the most progressive therapies available, including robotic gynecologic surgery.

  • Conditions treated: Incontinence, uterine and vaginal prolapse, pelvic pain

  • Procedure performed: Sacrocolpopexy, hysterectomy

Reproductive Surgery

Penn Fertility Care's reproductive surgeons are experienced in caring for women and adolescents with Mullerian anomalies (congenital malformations of the uterus and/or vagina) and often work in collaboration with pediatric urologists at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Our physicians also offer surgical options to treat infertility and to preserve a woman’s reproductive function.

  • Conditions treated: Infertility, reversal of tubal ligation, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, uterine/vaginal malformations (Mullerian anomalies)

  • Procedures performed: Tubal reanastomosis, myomectomy, ovarian cystectomy

General Gynecology
