Penn has been a leader in the care of women and families for more than two centuries. Our physicians, researchers and staff have initiated many of today’s gynecologic treatment options. Our physicians are skilled in caring for women with co-existing medical conditions, a history of prior surgery or a history of congenital malformations of the reproductive organs. We continue our efforts to devise and enhance new and even better options for complex gynecologic
surgery through the Penn Center for Advanced Gynecologic Surgery.
The mission of the Penn Center for Advanced Gynecologic Surgery is to provide the highest quality of surgical care to women with benign and malignant gynecologic conditions. Our physicians are skilled in caring for women with co-existing medical conditions and a history of prior surgery. As a part of Penn’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, we are committed to providing women with a wide range of both medical and surgical options, and helping the patient decide what treatment option is in her best interest.

One of the Largest Robotics Programs in the Nation
Penn Medicine has a true, multispecialty robotic surgery program and with five da Vinci® Robotic Surgical Systems, it has one of the largest robotics programs in the nation.
Robotic-assisted surgery is gaining popularity because of the many benefits for both patients and surgeons, but having an active program with experienced surgeons is
the key to successful surgical results. Penn has numerous surgeons with national reputations in their field; performing laparoscopic procedures on a daily basis.
More experience means better outcomes. Penn gynecologic surgeons perform more robotic gynecologic surgeries than any other program in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
