Penn Center for Advanced Gynecologic Surgery

Less invasive surgery, quicker recovery

For women with a gynecologic condition, the decision to have surgery can be difficult. A woman's busy life does not leave much time to recover from a significant surgical procedure.

The Penn Center for Advanced Gynecologic Surgery leverages years of staff experience in caring for patients with the most complex gynecologic conditions. Using advanced techniques, surgeons can diagnose or treat patients, and remove or repair a part of the body, without performing a major incision during surgery. The addition of robotics to laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery is a progressive innovation, transforming the practice of gynecologic surgery.

Specialists at the Penn Center for Advanced Gynecologic Surgery are using new techniques in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery, in turn, shortening recovery times, reducing pain and blood loss and letting women get back to their lives in record time.

When applied to gynecologic conditions, robotic and minimally invasive surgery can be used to treat:

  • Bladder and pelvic floor disorders
  • Cervical and uterine cancer
  • Endometriosis
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Infertility
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Pelvic Pain
  • Uterine fibroids

The Penn Center for Advanced Gynecologic Surgery offers an experienced team of surgeons providing complex gynecologic surgery options. Alongside this innovative technology, our physicians, nurses and support staff give our patients compassionate, exemplary and individualized surgical care.
