Breastfeeding Support Services

Penn Ob/Gyn Care wants to help you to succeed in breastfeeding. There are many services available to assist you during your stay and after you return home.

Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
Breastfeeding doesn’t come naturally to every mother. Both mother and baby need to learn the basics of breastfeeding to continue a successful breastfeeding relationship. Penn Ob/Gyn Care has lactation nurse specialists available during your postpartum stay at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to help you overcome common nursing difficulties.

Our lactation nurses provide assistance on a variety of breastfeeding issues including latch-on problems, engorgement, nipple care, breast milk collection and storage and more. If needed, breast pumps are available during your stay at the Hospital and for monthly rental once you leave the Hospital.

Breastfeeding Warmline
After you leave the hospital, you can receive additional breastfeeding assistance by calling our breastfeeding warmline. The warmline is staffed by lactation nurses who are available to answer your questions and concerns about breastfeeding. For more information, please call (215) 662-2361.
