Free Text Messages for Maternal and Child Health

Mothers who are interested in helpful information about living a healthy pregnancy and taking good care of their newborn can sign up for free text messages through a service called "Text4baby."

Penn Medicine is proud to partner with the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition to offer this free mobile information service. Women who sign up for Text4baby receive free SMS text messages each week, timed to their due date or baby's date of birth.

How Does Text4baby Work?

To get FREE messages each week on your cell phone to help you through your pregnancy and your baby's first year:

Messages are available in both English and Spanish and include helpful tips on various topics related to pregnancy and child care, including:

  • Nutrition and food safety
  • Exercise safety
  • Labor and delivery
  • Breastfeeding
  • Postpartum depression
  • Child development

Text4baby is made possible through a broad, public-private partnership that includes government, corporations, academic institutions, professional associations, tribal agencies and non-profit organizations.
