Located adjacent to the hospital's Labor and Delivery Unit, the Perinatal Evaluation and Treatment Unit (PETU) offers one convenient, centralized location for evaluation of pregnancy-related concerns of patients. The PETU provides outpatient care as well as antenatal testing procedures that are performed on both an outpatient and inpatient basis.
The PETU also provides high-quality, efficient maternal/fetal evaluation and triage for all women in labor. It is the first PETU in the region staffed by perinatalogists or maternal fetal medicine specialists (high-risk pregnancy specialists) to assist in the evaluation of high-risk situations that develop during labor and delivery. Procedures such as amniocentesis and fetal surgery are also performed in the PETU.
