Expectant couples seeking a homelike atmosphere for their birth experience have an excellent delivery alternative at Pennsylvania Hospital's Birthing Suite. The Birthing Suite blends the best of both worlds, giving you and your family the opportunity for a low or no-intervention birth in a warm, comfortable setting. Located adjacent to the labor and delivery unit at Pennsylvania Hospital, the Birthing Suite offers easy access to state-of-the-art delivery and intensive care facilities.
Located on the third floor of the hospital's Preston Building, the Birthing Suite contains two birth rooms featuring many amenities to support a natural or low-intervention childbirth, including:
- 24/7 midwifery or obstetric care
- Private bathroom with shower
- Whirlpool bath and refreshment area (available in one room only)
- Comfortable chairs
- Soft décor
Talk to your provider at your next prenatal visit to see if the Birthing Suite is an appropriate delivery option for you.
Expectant Parents Orientation
Pennsylvania Hospital is pleased to offer an Expectant Parents Orientation. This free session will include a virtual tour of our Labor and Delivery and Birthing Suites, as well as an opportunity to ask all the questions you have about giving birth at Pennsylvania Hospital. We will introduce you to our Baby-Friendly Journey and let you know how we will help you to meet your infant feeding goals. We will also cover the nitty gritty details about where to park, what entrance to use, etc. Expectant Parents Orientation is offered twice each month and registration is required.
