Nursing at Penn Medicine

A Message from William Kupchunas

William Kupchunas, MSN, MBA, RN, CRRN

As experts in returning patients to their highest level of function, nurses at the Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine work on the front-line, consistently driving the quality of care through their interventions.

The Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine combines the evidence based model of the Penn system with the rehabilitation expertise of Good Shepherd. Treatment team members are experts in their Rehabilitation, providing the highest level of compassionate, personalized care.

Our nursing leadership is second to none. I am extremely proud of the fact that we have created an exceptional rehabilitation hospital in a region in which rigorous competition exists. With a Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Medical Officer partnering to create a world class model for post-acute care, a structure is set that allows for the alignment of goals across all disciplines in order to achieve the highest level of quality and the best outcomes.

I am continuously inspired by the dedication, leadership and compassion of our nurses. I am proud of the opportunity to work among such a talented nursing team and encourage you to take this journey with us.
