Pituitary Diagnosis and Evaluation
Physicians at the Penn Pituitary Center have access to the latest diagnostic technologies available today, including:
- Provocative endocrine testing: including stimulation and suppression of growth hormone, CRH testing, metyrapone testing and water-deprivation testing.
- Inferior petrosal sinus sampling: performed in interventional radiology, this technique distinguishes Cushing's disease from ectopic ACTH syndrome.
- High-resolution MRI (3T): high resolution improves visualization of the pituitary and surrounding structures.
