The Center for Cranial Base Surgery
The Center for Cranial Base Surgery offers
expert evaluation and treatment of tumors of the
head, neck, face and other complex skull-base
disorders. With the development of innovative
and minimally invasive surgical procedures and
state-of-the-art imaging, many of these tumors,
previously inaccessible, can now be successfully
treated.
Given the complexity of many cranial
base disorders, The Center for Cranial Base
Surgery uses a multidisciplinary approach, combining
the expertise of Penn specialists in otorhinolaryngology – head
and neck surgery, neurosurgery, neuroradiology,
radiation oncology, oncology, and The Center
for Head and Neck Cancer.
Throughout the course
of a patient’s comprehensive
care, additional support is provided by experienced
physical and occupational therapists, speech
and swallowing therapists, rehabilitation medicine
physicians, social workers, endocrinologists,
neuro-ophthalmologists and dieticians.
