Wistar Institute for Anatomy and Biology

The Wistar Institute is the oldest of America's independent non-profit institutions dedicated to biomedical research and training.

Located adjacent to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the Wistar Institute employs more than 60 full-time research scientists. Additionally, as many as 100 post-doctoral scientists from around the world work at the Institute at any given period.

The Pulmonary Division has a strong collaboration with the Wistar Institute, with several of our faculty holding joint appointments and Wistar faculty actively participating in training of research fellows.
