The mission of the interdisciplinary and interdepartmental Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics is to improve public health by:
- Linking epidemiology, biostatistics and clinical medicine.
- Bringing epidemiological research methods to clinical research, clinical insight to epidemiological research and an understanding of research methodology to clinical medicine.
Center faculty, trainees and staff are currently engaged in more than 135 research projects, both hospital-based and community-based. Center staff members also serve as consultants to the private and public sectors on issues of public health.
