NURSING: NEW TO PRACTICE (NTP) PROGRAM
For recent graduates from an accredited
BSN/RN program, PPMC also offers a special
program for new to practice nurses who are
interested in working in a medical surgical
area of the hospital.
Based on the assessment
of the NTP nurses' learning styles, clinical
strengths and weaknesses, we modify the program
to meet their educational needs. Emphasis is
placed on application of critical thinking in
emergent and urgent situations and enhancement
of clinical skills.
The informal classroom setting enhances open
communication, self-reflection, and the mentoring
process. Classroom modules include, but are not
limited to the following:
- Medication
administration review with emphasis on
quality administration and risk management
- Documentation
and Sunrise computer orientation
