CARDIOLOGY
Working within our award-winning Penn
Cardiac Care team
at the University of Pennsylvania Health System,
you will be a part of the most advanced, comprehensive
heart care
available in the Philadelphia region.
Utilizing the latest in cardiology technology, our cardiac technicians and registered
nurses collaboratively work alongside world-renowned cardiologists treating heart
problems that range from the most common to the most complex. Philadelphia
Magazine's 2005 Top Docs issue
cited more physicians and surgeons from Penn Cardiac Care than from any other
hospital or health system in the region.
As our cardiology departments grow, we
are expanding our EPS Labs, cath labs and vascular
suites. With procedures
similar to that of the operating room and the
Interventional Radiology departments, our staff
gains valuable experience working with high acuity
patients. UPHS uses the latest technologies for
cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures,
including valvuloplasy, PFO/ ASD, ablations (a-fib,
a flutter, VT, epicardial VT, SVT, AVNRT, WPW),
lead extractions, permanent pacemaker and ICD
placement.
At UPHS, you will have the opportunity to be a part
of cutting-edge research that will advance the
field of cardiology, while maintaining work/life
balance. Our EPS lab staff are not required to
work nights and holidays, while cath techs are
on call approximately every 6 weeks, without
the requirement to work nights and weekends.
Our multidisciplinary team approach means that you
will be respected and counted on for your knowledge
while being exposed to a diverse patient population
and professional development opportunities.
Whether you choose to bring your clinical expertise
to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania,
Penn Presbyterian Medical Center or Pennsylvania Hospital,
you'll enjoy being a part of an outstanding academic
environment that offers an exceptional compensation
and benefits program,
prepaid tuition assistance that is among the
best in the region, and a culture that fosters respect,
collaboration, and professional development opportunities.
