Teen Volunteer Program
How to Apply
- Review the requirements with parents/guardians.
- Download the application. (Application will be available to download March 20, 2012).
- Review application and instructions.
- Fax all completed application paperwork to 215-614-0465 "Attention: Summer-Teen Volunteer Program."
The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania proudly offers the Summer-Teen Volunteer Program.
Why Volunteer
- Exposure to patient care in a premier hospital
- To provide service to your community
- To gain a certificate of service for participation in an elite hospital program
Teen Volunteer Requirements
- Must be at least 14 years of age by June 1, 2012
- Must be in high school or entering high school
- A minimum of 50 hours of service over a three-month period of time
- Complete application
- Complete medical documentation specified on application
- Consistent attendance
- Pass Volunteer Services interview
- Attend all required orientation and training
- Compliance with uniform and dress standards
- Compliance with hospital and department policies/guidelines
Who Should Apply
- High school students over the age of 14
- Students who have not yet started college
Who Should Not Apply
- Students who are under the age of 14
- Students who have started college
- Students who can not complete the minimum service requirements
- Students who are not able to commit to service for the entire summer (two weeks vacation permitted)
