Accommodations – Semi-private, Private, Deluxe (Pavilion)

In addition to semi-private rooms, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania offers both private and deluxe accommodations (the Pavilion) for patients in the hospital. For information about rates and availability please contact Admissions at (215) 662-2335.

Interactive Television

Each patient room is equipped with television. Free TV services include: Hospital Information, Fit TV, CNN Headline News, The Relaxation Channel, The Weather Channel and ABC Family. Additional channels may be purchased for $8 per day (plus tax) or a maximum of $112. Closed captioning is available on all TVs. Please contact 215-662-3900 if you need assistance.

Telephone

Each patient room has a telephone. Long-distance phone service can be activated by ordering the TV/phone package. Reduced rates are:

  • $2.45 first minute
  • $0.45 each additional minute

Patients may also use phone cards or operator-assisted dialing. *Please note: Not all 215 and 610 area code numbers are considered local. Please call 215-662-4700 for questions regarding long-distance service. TV and phone services may be charged to a major credit card or to your home telephone bill. To order your television and telephone services, call 215-662-4700 and a 24-hour customer service representative can assist you.

Beauty and Grooming Services

Our hair stylist provides services for both men and women at bedside or the hospital salon located on the first floor of the Maloney building. Hair services are available during regular business hours and payment is expected at the time of service. You need written permission from your doctor for these services. Contact your nurse manager or patient and guest relations for assistance in scheduling.

Pastoral Care

Our interfaith ministers are happy to visit with you 24 hours a day. You may reach them at 215-662-2591. The interfaith chapel is located on 1 Dulles and is open 24 hours to meet your spiritual needs and for reflection and prayer. After 5 pm contact the hospital operator for the chaplain-on-call or the duty chaplain.
