Services and Programs
Acquired Bleeding Disorders
PCHP works closely with the special coagulation
laboratory at the Hospital of the University of
Pennsylvania to diagnose bleeding disorders. The
physicians and nursing staff have
expertise in these disorders and will institute
appropriate treatment.
Inherited Bleeding Disorders
Patients are seen on a semi-annual or annual
basis, or as needed, depending on the severity
of their bleeding disorder. Patients are seen in
evaluation by a nurse or nurse practitioner,
hematologist, physical therapist and social worker, all
experienced in care of patients with bleeding
disorders.
Laboratory testing pertinent to the
bleeding disorder is performed or arranged
through your primary care physician. Assessment
for hepatitis and vaccinations are performed,
as needed. During this visit, updates on what
is new in treatment and education about the bleeding
disorder are provided. You or your insurance
are charged for the physician visit and laboratory
work, only.

Acquired and Inherited Disorders of Thrombosis
Specialized laboratory testing is available to
aid in the diagnosis and management of these
disorders. Our staff work closely with
cardiology, vascular surgery, neurology, and
other specialists at the University of Pennsylvania Health System
to optimize the care of patients with these
disorders. PCHP staff provide anticoagulation
management for patients with severe clotting
disorders or where anticoagulation management
