Heart Failure

Evaluation of the HeartWare® Left Ventricular Assist Device for the Treatment of Advanced Heart Failure (ADVANCE)

A trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the HeartWare® LVAD system as a bridge to cardiac transplantation in patients listed for cardiac transplantation with refractory, advanced heart failure at risk of death.

Evaluation of the HeartWare® Ventricular Assist System (ENDURANCE)

An investigation of the safety and effectiveness of the HeartWare Ventricular Assist System in patients with chronic Stage D/NYHA Class IIIB/IV left ventricular failure who have received and failed optimal medical therapy and who are ineligible for cardiac transplantation.

Randomized Evaluation of VAD InterVEntion before Inotropic Therapy (REVIVE-IT)

This study will compare whether non-transplant eligible patients with heart failure less advanced than that of current LVAD recipients do better with implanted devices than with current medical therapy.

SynCardia Freedom Driver System Study

This is a multicenter, non-randomized trial of a portable device small enough to carry around. This device lets the patient be discharged home while awaiting a donor heart.
