The three-year fellowship program at Penn Medicine prepares fellows for careers as outstanding clinical cardiologists, clinical investigators and scientists. The third year of the fellowship is designed to meet each fellow's specific cardiac interests.

Electrophysiology Fellowship Program
Fellows in the Electrophysiology Fellowship Program are trained in:
- Arrhythmia mapping
- Radiofrequency ablation of atrial and ventricular tachycardias
- Pacemaker insertion and management
- Implantable defibrillators
- Pharmacological management of arrhythmias
Interventional Fellowship Program
Fellows in the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program are trained in:
- Diagnostic catheterization
- Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty
- Rotational atherectomy
- Intracoronary stents
- Valvuloplasty
- Atrial septal device closure
Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship Program
Fellows in the Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship Program are trained in:
- Inpatient and outpatient management of patients with heart failure
- Pre-transplant evaluation and management
- Post-operative transplant management and immune-suppression
- Bridging and destination ventricular assist devices
