Penn Lung Transplant Program

Over the past decade, Penn's Lung Transplantation team has performed almost three times as many lung transplant procedures as any other regional medical center. Having performed approximately 600 procedures since its inception in the early 1990s, the Penn Lung Transplant Program is now among the most active programs in the United States and among the most experienced in the world.

Waiting time, an important measure of a transplant program's effectiveness, is optimal at the Penn Lung Transplant Program. Penn is among the few centers in the nation performing lung/liver, heart/lung and other complex multi-organ transplantations.
