What to Expect Before a Visit
Remote Medical Record Review
Penn Global Medicine will arrange for the review of prospective patients medical records. This review is performed by Penn specialists to aid patients in selecting a physician, and to inform potential patients of the latest treatment options available at Penn Medicine. This service is offered at no fee to patients. Second-opinion services are also available for an additional fee.
Appointment Scheduling
For convenience, Penn Global Medicine schedules all initial and follow-up appointments. Prior to arrival at Penn Medicine, patients are provided with appointment times, locations and other pertinent information.
Document and Record Coordination
The Penn Global Medicine team assists international patients and their families in obtaining visa information, medical records and other documentation.
What to Expect During Treatment
International patients are greeted by a Penn Global Medicine representative and escorted to their accommodations or medical appointment. During their stay, a Penn Global Medicine team member is available at all times to offer patients or their families assistance with requests such as:

What to Expect After Departure
Medical Records
Following a visit, international patients receive hard copies and electronic copies of their medical records and radiology films. In addition, all Penn patients can take advantage of myPennMedicine, a free online health management tool that provides secure and confidential access to medical records.
Discharge Coordination
When treatment is complete, the Penn Medicine team organizes discharge plans, medical equipment, informs patients about any follow-up care instructions they may need and facilitates a safe trip home.
Follow-up Communication
Following treatment, a Penn Global Medicine representative continues to be a point of contact for any questions or needs that patients may have, including assistance with return travel home, medical records, billing and future appointments.
