Penn Celebrates Heart Month
To combat heart disease and educate the public about how they can decrease their risk for heart disease and stroke, Congress and the American Heart Association have proclaimed February American Heart Month. All month long, Penn Medicine is partnering with the American Heart Association to promote better awareness of heart disease and raise research funds to develop innovative prevention methods and new treatment options.
Penn’s new Heart and Vascular Center at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine opens February 9, 2009 and is located adjacent to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The Heart and Vascular Center is committed to the mission of providing heart patients with the latest diagnostic tools and medical therapies—developed by our physicians and researchers and available only from Penn. Dedicated to patient-focused care, the center brings together experts from every heart and vascular specialty to develop a personalized and comprehensive plan of care for each patient.
