Top Ten In the NationThe Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) is now ranked eighth in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. This marks the second year in a row that HUP has ranked among the top 10 hospitals in the nation. The publication's prestigious annual "Honor Roll" of best hospitals in America places HUP as one of only 21 hospitals chosen from the approximately 4,800 facilities surveyed in 16 specialties and the only hospital in the Philadelphia area to achieve the ranking.

Penn Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center

The Penn Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center is recognized by the National Parkinson Foundation as one of 45 worldwide centers of excellence. The center is one of the largest of its kind in the country and the most pre-eminent in the Philadelphia region, providing care to nearly 3,000 patients each year. Comprehensive clinical care and innovative research are integrated to provide the patient with the best treatment options.

The center employs a multidisciplinary treatment approach managed by an expert team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, physical therapists, psychotherapists, social workers and nurses. The Women's Cardiovascular Center at Pennsylvania Hospital is dedicated to improving the heart health of women. The staff at the center understands the gender differences of heart disease and offer prevention, diagnosis and treatment options specifically for women. Each woman's personalized care plan includes a comprehensive risk assessment, on-site testing, prevention and treatment options, and if appropriate, evaluation and care for cardiac risk during pregnancy.
