Cox Institute for Diabetes Research
The institute conducts multidisciplinary research
for diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy and diabetic dermatologic
complications.

The Institute for Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism
The Institute is designed to better the understanding
of the genetic, biochemical, molecular, environmental, and behavioral
origins of diabetes, obesity, and other metabolic diseases and reduce
their incidence and severity.
Consisting of four areas -- type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, obesity,
and metabolism and complications -- the Institute
coordinates and intensifies Penn's current efforts
aimed at these afflictions. Collaborations include other academic
departments
at Penn, such as
psychology, sociology, and urban studies.
