Penn Rodebaugh Diabetes Center

Research and Clinical Trials

The Penn Rodebaugh Diabetes Center actively participates in research and clinical trials designed for advancing the treatment of diabetes and ultimately finding its cure.

Our patients can participate in various research studies conducted directly by our faculty and scientists within the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.

The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is one of 10 nationwide centers conducting islet cell transplantation therapy for type 1 diabetes. This is an exciting new technology that represents the first potential cure for type 1 diabetes.
