Dermatopathology
Penn Cutaneous Pathology Services is the Dermatopathology
Division of the Department of Dermatology at
the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Our faculty is composed of four board certified
dermatopathologists and one board certified
oral pathologist. This staff of pathologists
has over 50 years of combined experience in the
fields of dermatopathology and oral pathology.
Services
Our staff has expertise in areas of:
- Inflammatory dermatoses
- Bullous disorders
- Cutaneous lymphoma
- Melanoma
- Soft tissue tumors
- Hair disorders
- Benign and malignant tumors of the skin
We provide a comprehensive range of dermatopathology
services including routine hematoxylin-eosin
stains,
histochemical stains and a full panel of immunohistochemical
stains. In addition, we offer direct and indirect
immunofluorescence, lymphocyte marker studies,
ELISA testing and Sezary cell analysis.
The Penn Cutaneous Laboratory is located at
the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
It is certified by the Joint Commission
and is staffed with experienced histotechnologists
certified by the American Society for Clinical
Pathology (ASCP). Our state-of-the-art laboratory
provides our patients and clients with fast reliable
results and the highest quality service.
