Program Follow-up

Ongoing patient care is an important part of the Bariatric Surgery Program at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Following surgery patients return for frequent follow-up appointments. The surgeon will evaluate the patient’s dietary tolerance, recovery from surgery and progress toward their weight loss goals. The bariatric dietitian will evaluate the patient’s protein, fluid and food intake.

Post-operative appointments are usually schedules as follows:

  • 10 to 14 days following surgery
  • Four weeks, then monthly from the second to the sixth month
  • Nine months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months, then annually.

Need an appointment? Request one online 24 hours/day, 7 days/week or call 800-789-PENN (7366) to speak to a referral counselor.
