Getting Started

Screening Appointments

Surgeon: Each patient is evaluated by the gastrointestinal surgeon. At this time, the patient's current and past medical history are reviewed and the patient undergoes a complete physical examination.

*Nutritionist: Prior to surgery, every patient is individually evaluated by the bariatric clinical specialist. The patient is also required to take a preoperative nutrition class.

*Psychologist: Every patient undergoes a preoperative psychological evaluation. This assists in determining if the patient is psychologically/emotionally prepared for surgery.

* The psychological evaluation and nutrition group appointments are scheduled for the same day, and occur at the same location.
