Amy I. Cha, MD, FACS: "A lot of my practice focuses on Bariatric surgery and the surgical treatment for morbid obesity. Personally, I really enjoy my practice in bariatric surgery. Every patient that goes through Penn Medicine's bariatric program, gets evaluated in the behavioral and eating disorder clinic. We believe that that's an important part of success in the bariatric surgery program. The benefit of having all of the different components of the bariatric program in one place at Penn Medicine is that it makes it easier for the patients, as well as all the specialists and the surgeons in the program. We can help them a lot with, not just weight lost but with a complete life style change. My philosophy on patient care is really a partnership with the patient. I try to encourage my patients to really take responsibility and to take an active part in their medical care so that we're both doing our utmost to improve their health. My name is Amy Cha and I'm an Assistant professor of surgery at Penn Medicine."
